PR + Communications

Would you like to be famous?

I can help.

I’ll draft the press release, assemble the media kit, find the journalists, launch the press push, answer their emails, and ghostwrite the stories for some magazine.

Having worked as a reporter too, I know what it’s like on both sides of that press release. Most of my PR/comms work was within the architectural field, working for Henning Larsen in Copenhagen.

Coming to Henning Larsen with a background in journalism (rather than architecture), I was especially well-equipped to explore the human angle within every project. I wanted to show that people, rather than design alone, give buildings value.

Below are a few highlights from that period.

[PRESS RELEASE]

Hotel Alsik creates international appeal in southern Denmark

Here, I created a press strategy specifically targeting Danish media, authoring the press release as well as supporting interviews and articles. This story was picked up by Byens Ejendom, Dagens Byggeri, Byggeri-Arkitektur, and international outlets like AAS Architecture and Design Raid.

Here’s the press release.

[SUPPLEMENT STORY]

Elevating architecture in Minneapolis’ skyways

In addition to formal press releases, I’d also write supplement pieces that offered journalists some extra project info, and a fresh angle to help them write up coverage. For this one, I got to write about Scandinavian design popping up in my home town.

Read the story here.

[MEDIA KIT]

Everything you need to make the front page

Part of my job was assembling press kits to make it easy for interested media to give us top-notch coverage. I’d stock these with stories, photographs, architectural diagrams and any necessary logos and typefaces.

Here’s a press kit I created for a high-budget media event in Kiruna, Sweden, attended by journalists from Huffington Post, The Guardian and Dezeen. I helped plan the media visit itself, and supported outreach, travel and follow-up with reporters.

Take a look at the full media kit for Kiruna Town Hall right here. ︎︎︎

[INTERVIEW]

A climate in crisis, and the architecture of revolution

I called up Pelle Munch-Petersen, an industrial Ph.D. researcher at Henning Larsen, for a conversation at the crossroads of construction, capitalism and climate change.

Give it a read here.

[SPOTLIGHT STORY]

Moesgaard Museum becomes a racetrack for elite runners

I traveled to Moesgaard Museum in Aarhus to see the IAAF Cross Country World Championships, where the course channeled runners up Moesgaard’s sloped turf roof. I aimed to highlight how Henning Larsen’s architecture takes on an enduring role in the community.

Here’s the story.

[MULTIMEDIA]

It Begins With Curiosity - Works By Henning Larsen Architects

To commemorate Henning Larsen’s 60th anniversary as a practicing studio, we published a big book celebrating our best work.

I helped proofread and copyread this book, as well as translate sections from Danish to English.

That’s it for now, don’t want to overload you.
